Ocasio-Cortez ‘admits’ she used paper to mock critics of her riding in cars
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) fired back at critics who have made a habit of calling out the freshman lawmaker for using cars.
In a post on Twitter, Ocasio-Cortez joked that she “wrote in a book…made out of paper.”
“Apparently using present technology means I can’t fight for new jobs, investing in infrastructure, & renewable energy,” she wrote.
I need to admit something to you all. Frankly, I don’t know how my environmental reputation can recover.
Today…

The progressive Democrat who has used social media to both connect with supporters and respond to critics has gained widespread attention for her rollout of the “Green New Deal,” which is aimed at helping the U.S. mitigate the impacts of climate change.
{mosads}The New York Post recently published an article with a picture showing her getting out of a minivan with the headline “Ocasio-Cortez leaves parade in 17-mpg minivan — blocks from the subway.”
Her Green New Deal proposal calls for a total overhaul of the nation’s transportation infrastructure with less focus on automobiles and more on high-speed rail and investments in public transit in order to dramatically reduce emissions that harm the environment.
“The Green New Deal is about putting a LOT of people to work in developing new technologies, building new infrastructure, and getting us to 100% renewable energy,” she wrote on Twitter, again shooting down a critical headline from the New York Post that called out her “hypocrisy” for taking car rides.

Living in the world as it is isn’t an argument against working towards a better future.
