Obama goes viral after sporting black bomber jacket with ’44’ on sleeve at basketball game

Former President Obama’s style caught the attention of many on social media while attending the highly anticipated Duke vs. University of North Carolina basketball game in Durham, N.C., on Wednesday night.

Though speculation of Obama’s possible attendance at the game swirled on social media Tuesday and Wednesday, the former president’s wardrobe is what set off a firestorm on Twitter shortly after his arrival.

Many online instantly took note that the former president’s black bomber jacket, which some social media users have already begun referring to as the “O-bomber,” has the number “44” stitched on its sleeve in white lettering. The number is a reference Obama’s standing as the nation’s 44th president.

The look has since garnered much applause from many online who were asking for website addresses to purchase the “merch.”

Known to be an avid basketball fan, Obama was seen at the matchup on Wednesday just before tipoff with a Secret Service detail following him closely.

A number of other prominent people also attended the game, including director Spike Lee and Ken Griffey Jr.
