Ex-PETA employee says he was fired for pouring fake blood on Trump’s Hollywood star

A man who poured fake blood on President Trump’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star says he was working for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) at the time — and has since been fired by the animal rights organization.

Matt Bruce told TMZ that he worked as PETA’s senior campaign specialist but was fired after the incident was captured on video.

“These are scary times to stand up for your convictions. I think PETA does not want the attention of the Trump administration. They are scared, but I will never be silenced,” Bruce told TMZ in an interview.

{mosads}Bruce said he was at Trump’s Hollywood star last week protesting Forever 21’s use of wool in its clothing when he decided to pour red-dyed corn syrup on the president’s star.

Bruce said he was attempting to “make a statement” and was doing so on his own time, not as an employee of PETA.

“The fact that I got fired for spilling blood on Donald Trump’s star was very surprising and disappointing,” Bruce said.

A request for comment to PETA was not immediately returned.

Trump’s star in Hollywood has been the subject of frequent vandalism.

Earlier this year, a man took a pickax to the star, and it was later defaced with swastikas.

The Los Angeles Police Department said it would not be increasing police presence at the star.
