Poll: Majority of UK residents want second Brexit referendum

The majority of people in the United Kingdom said they would support a second Brexit referendum, according to a new poll.

A Sky News survey published Monday found that 53 percent of respondents would support holding a referendum allowing them to choose between leaving the European Union (EU) as agreed to in the deal negotiated by the EU, leaving without a deal or remaining in the EU.

Thirty-six percent opposed a second referendum.

{mosads}The poll also found that a majority of respondents said they would vote against Brexit if a second referendum were held. Fifty-three percent said they would vote against leaving the EU, while 32 percent would support leaving the EU without a deal. Sixteen percent said they would vote for leaving on the terms of the negotiated deal.

Last month, the leaders of the EU approved a deal for the United Kingdom to leave the EU. If the deal is approved by politicians in the United Kingdom, the country will leave the EU in March.
