Obama surprises staffers at Dem campaign office with doughnuts
Former President Obama surprised staffers with doughnuts at a Democratic campaign office in Virginia on Monday.
Obama and Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) brought doughnuts to the staff at a Fairfax campaign office during an event to support Virginia Democrats.
{mosads}The former president was met with a loud round of applause as he displayed the box of treats “especially approved” by former first lady Michelle Obama, who was known for promoting healthy eating.
“She knows all of you have been working so hard,” Obama told the staffers. “You’ve been moving, so you’re allowed to have a little, little treat.”
“Either this crowd likes you or they like doughnuts,” Kaine joked.

Obama was in Virginia with Kaine and Jennifer Wexton, the Democratic candidate running in Virginia’s 10th Congressional District.
Kaine, the 2016 Democratic vice presidential nominee, has held a double-digit lead over Republican Corey Stewart in the Senate race.
Wexton is also carrying a 13-point lead over incumbent Rep. Barbara Comstock (R) ahead of Tuesday’s elections.
