Conway’s husband encourages criticism of Trump’s media attacks: ‘Pile away’

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway’s husband encouraged what another Twitter user described as a “pile-on” over President Trump’s attacks on the media.

“Pile away,” wrote George Conway, egging on criticism of Trump’s Monday tweet calling the media “the true Enemy of the People.”

Trump on Monday blamed the media for “great anger in our Country” in a tweet following a week of politically charged, deadly violence.

His tweet referred to the “Fake News Media” as “the true Enemy of the People.”

{mosads}Though Conway’s wife is one of Trump’s top aides, he has repeatedly taken jabs at the president on Twitter, often subtly criticizing him through retweets of critical stories.

Trump’s Monday tweet has garnered significant criticism, particularly as it comes after a series of pipe bombs were mailed to prominent Democrats and CNN, and after a shooting that left 11 dead at a Pittsburgh synagogue.

Trump condemned the mail bombs and shooting at the synagogue, but has rejected calls to tone down his rhetoric.
