Warriors coach fundraising for gun control Brady PAC
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is fundraising for the gun control Brady PAC to help get candidates “who will reject the gun lobby” elected in November’s midterm elections.
“I know the toll that gun violence takes on a community, on a family, and on a city,” Kerr wrote in an email sent through the PAC on Sunday. “The devastation lasts a lifetime. And Congress doesn’t seem to give a damn that whether you’re a kid going to school in San Francisco or anywhere in America, yes, your life could be in danger.”

Kerr, whose father was shot and killed by gunmen while he was a professor at the American University of Beirut, has been a vocal supporter of gun control legislation and a strong critic of the National Rifle Association (NRA).
Last month, following reports that the NRA was facing financial difficulties, Kerr tweeted that people should not send money to the organization because “thoughts and prayers should suffice.”
Following February’s school shooting in Parkland, Fla., Kerr called for helping elect candidates who do “not just bow down to the NRA.”
“Nothing has been done. It doesn’t seem to matter to our government that children are being shot to death day after day in schools,” he said. “But we can do something about it. We can vote people in who actually have the courage to protect people’s lives and not just bow down to the NRA because they’ve financed their campaign for them.”
