CNN has stopped streaming episodes of Anthony Bourdain’s “Parts Unknown” that feature his girlfriend, Asia Argento, after she faced allegations of sexual assault.
BuzzFeed reported Saturday that the network had removed episodes with Argento.
The news comes weeks after The New York Times reported that Argento paid fellow actor Jimmy Bennett $380,000 when he accused her of sexually assaulting him.
{mosads}Bennett accused Argento of assaulting him when he was 17 and she was 37, according to the Times, which added that he alleged that the trauma he experienced from the event harmed his work and income as well as his mental health.
Argento was one of the first women to accuse Harvey Weinstein of sexual assault and was a leader in the #MeToo movement. Weinstein’s lawyers, however, have said the relationship was consensual.
When the Times report broke, a lawyer for the Hollywood producer said the allegations against Argento revealed “a stunning level of hypocrisy.”
Argento has denied the allegations that she sexually assaulted Bennett, telling journalist Yashar Ali in a statement, “I have never had any sexual relationship with Bennett.”
She said that Bennett extorted her for the money, noting that he had “previously undertaken legal actions against his own family requesting millions in damages.”
