Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk apologized on Wednesday for calling a diver who helped rescue 12 boys from a Thai cave a “pedo guy.”

{mosads}Over the weekend, Musk called British diver Vern Unsworth a “pedo guy” after the diver, in an interview with CNN, dismissed the child-size submarine Musk had sent to help rescue the boys trapped in the Tham Luang cave system as a “PR stunt.”

“My words were spoken in anger after Mr. Unsworth said several untruths,” Musk said in a tweet on Tuesday.

“Nonetheless, his actions against me do not justify my actions against him, and for that I apologize to Mr. Unsworth and to the companies I represent as leader. The fault is mine and mine alone,” Musk added.

Musk also said in his recent tweets that the submarine he sent was “built as an act of kindness & according to specifications from the dive team leader.”

Agence France-Presse reported on Monday that Unsworth is considering taking legal action against Musk for his comments on social media.

“He’s just a PR stunt merchant — that’s all he is,” Unsworth told AFP, adding that his feud with the Tesla CEO is not finished.

Unsworth said he plans to make a decision regarding legal action later this week when he returns to the United Kingdom.

Tesla investors had demanded Musk apologize for his “pedo guy” comment, The Guardian reported.

The 12 Thai soccer players gave their first press conference in northern Thailand this week since being rescued earlier this month. Doctors say all of the children are in good health, according to The Associated Press.
