Hot on The Hill right now

OK, so it’s getting near quitting time and you’re starting to zone out. Do not do a face plant in that stale coffee, because there’s cool stuff to surf around the site this afternoon:

  • Burris on the hot seat: Rep. Phil Hare (D-Ill.) called for the spankin’ new senator to step down, telling The Hill “what Illinois deserves is a senator they can trust to do the right things, that if they’re asked a question, they answer honestly.” Soon after, Burris defended himself in a speech.
  • Dick Morris and Eileen McGann argue that Obama isn’t taking the War on Terror seriously.
  • ACORN Chief Organizer Bertha Lewis says they called it on the housing crisis.
  • Silla Brush writes on Ben Bernanke’s lunchtime speech at the National Press Club, where the Fed jedi said the stimulus alone won’t be enough to right the ship.
  • LATE-BREAKING: Rep. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) throws his hat into the Senate ring.
