Patagonia owner: Trump is ‘like a kid who’s so frustrated he wants to break everything’

Yvon Chouinard, the founder of outdoor clothing company Patagonia, compares President Trump in a new interview to a frustrated child.

“It’s like a kid who’s so frustrated he wants to break everything,” Chouinard told GQ in an interview. “That’s what we’ve got.”

Chouinard also delivered a scathing assessment of Trump and his administration, accusing the president and his advisers of knowingly damaging the environment for “the sake of making more money.”

“They know what’s happening. What they’re doing is purposely not doing anything about climate for the sake of making more money,” he told GQ.

“That is truly evil. That’s why I call this administration evil,” he added. “They know what they’re doing, and they’re doing it to make more money.”

Patagonia has sparred with the president before.

The company filed a lawsuit in December challenging the Trump administration’s decision to shrink Bears Ears National Monument in Utah.

And Patagonia also joined hundreds of businesses, governors, mayors and colleges in condemning the president’s decision last summer to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement, which sought to curb carbon emissions in an effort to slow the effects of climate change.
