Scarborough: Trump doesn’t have the attention span to ‘collude with a ham sandwich’

MSNBC host Joe Scarborough on Monday mocked President Trump’s attention span, saying Trump couldn’t even “collude with a ham sandwich,” much less the Russians.

The “Morning Joe” host was discussing reports with other members of his show’s panel that Trump has told aides he won’t be swept up into special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation, something Scarborough said was likely.

“I don’t think he has the attention span to conduct a full-blown conspiracy,” Scarborough said, adding that people close to Trump are under investigation.

{mosads}“I think he could by mistake,” co-host Mika Brzezinski responded.

“The man can’t collude with a ham sandwich right now,” Scarborough said. “His attention span does not allow him to do that.”

Washington Post editor Eugene Robinson argued that Trump could accidentally stumble into collusion “if he sees this shiny object, this advantage, that he could lunge at.”

Scarborough, a frequent critic of Trump, said earlier Monday that Trump wasn’t joking when he suggested the U.S. should consider allowing a “president for life.”
