Brigitte Bardot: ‘Vast majority’ of actresses claiming sexual harassment are hypocrites

“The vast majority are being hypocritical and ridiculous,” Bardot, 83, said, according to Agence France-Presse.

“Lots of actresses try to play the tease with producers to get a role. And then, so we will talk about them, they say they were harassed,” she said. 

She also said she had never been sexually harassed during the course of her career, and suggested that it was “charming” when men commented on her appearance.

“I was never the victim of sexual harassment. And I found it charming when men told me that I was beautiful or I had a nice little backside,” Bardot said. 

Another French film legend, Catherine Deneuve, apologized to victims of sexual assault earlier this week after she signed onto an open letter defending men’s “freedom to pester” women. 

“It is to them and them alone that I offer my apologies,” Deneuve wrote in a letter published by the French newspaper Liberation.
