Obama: I felt ‘serenity’ during Trump’s inauguration
Former President Obama said he felt “serenity” during President Trump’s inauguration.
During an interview with Prince Harry, Obama said the first thing he thought during Trump’s inauguration was how thankful he was that former first lady Michelle Obama had been his “partner through that whole process.”
There was a “satisfying feeling that was mixed with all the work that was still undone,” he said.
“But over all, there was serenity there,” he said.
Prince Harry interviewed Obama for a segment that aired Wednesday on the BBC.
In September, CNN reported that Obama in his Inauguration Day letter offered “reflections” instead of advice.
Obama in his letter congratulated Trump on his “remarkable run” and said “all of us, regardless of party, should hope for expanded prosperity and security during your tenure.”
