Raiders coach’s wife fires back at Trump: I regret voting for you

The wife of Oakland Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio fired back at President Trump on Monday, saying she regretted voting for him after he attacked a player on Twitter.

“President Trump I voted for you, which I now regret,” Linda Del Rio tweeted on Monday. “Football is a powerful platform -here’s the charitable work we did in Mexico City.”

Del Rio also replied to Trump’s tweet attacking Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch, telling Trump to “take more time being President of the United States and less time trying to shame.”

Del Rio made her Twitter account private shortly after posting the tweets.

Trump attacked Lynch in an early-morning tweet Monday, calling on the NFL to suspend the player for not standing during the national anthem.

“Marshawn Lynch of the NFL’s Oakland Raiders stands for the Mexican Anthem and sits down to boos for our National Anthem. Great disrespect!” Trump wrote on Twitter.

“Next time NFL should suspend him for remainder of season. Attendance and ratings way down.”

Lynch did not stand for the “The Star-Spangled Banner” during a game against the New England Patriots on Sunday in Mexico City, but did stand for the playing of Mexico’s national anthem.

Trump has repeatedly gone after NFL players who kneel during the national anthem, saying the league’s owners should fire players who take a knee.
