Hezbollah official: The Muslim world doesn’t need moral sermons

A Lebanese MP who is a member of Hezbollah didn’t exactly heap priase on President Obama’s for his speech calling for a “new beginning” with the Muslim world on Thursday.

“The Islamic world does not need moral or political sermons. It needs a fundamental change in American policy,” Lebanon MP Hassan Fadlallah of Hezbollah said, according to Haaretz.

Meanwhile, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas called it a “good start,” especially with regards to Obama’s firm call for a two-state solution.

“His call for stopping settlement and for the establishment of a Palestinian state, and his reference to the suffering of Palestinians … is a clear message to Israel that a just peace is built on the foundations of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital,” he said through a spokesman.
