GOP raises $14.45M at annual fundraiser

Hours before the dinner is set to begin, the Republican campaign committees announced that the annual Senate-House fundraiser has raised $14.45 million.

That breaks down to $7.25 for the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) and $7.2 million for the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC).

“Tonight’s success is a testament to how well Republicans’ message of fiscal responsibility and smaller government is resonating,” NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions (R-Texas) said in a statement. “Together, we are showing America that we are a unified party with the best solutions to create jobs and rebuild our economy.”

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) will be the keynote speaker at the dinner Monday.
