Conservative firebrand Ann Coulter on Thursday night revealed the topic of her canceled speech at the University of California, Berkeley, saying it would have focused on enforcing immigration laws.
Sarcastically calling her controversial scheduled speech “seditious and hateful,” Coulter told Fox News’s Tucker Carlson that it would have centered on immigration.
“[The] main point of which was federal written law on the books about immigration developed over generations by both Democrats or Republicans should be enforced,” she said.
“That was the overall theme — there are laws, we should enforce them.”
{mosads}Coulter was forced to cancel her Thursday appearance at the university after she was told that her security could not be guaranteed.
The conservative commentator was originally scheduled to appear on campus last week before the university declined to postpose the event, citing danger over potential protesters.
Young America’s Foundation and the Berkeley College Republicans, two sponsors of the event, reportedly backed out of the Thursday event due to security concerns.
“My allies turned tail and ran at the last minute,” Coulter told Fox News.
She clarified later: “Berkeley canceled, my sponsors acquiesced,” before chiding the school’s handling of reported threats surrounding her appearance.
“There are ways of dealing with violence. That’s why we have a police force,” she said.
