Meghan McCain said that traditional conservatives are “scared s—less” of the future during her highly-anticipated speech before Log Cabin Republicans in Washington Saturday night.
McCain said that the GOP needed to be more forward-looking and embrace policies like gay marriage while rejecting some long-held conservative tenets.
“I feel too many Republicans want to cling to past successes,” she said in her speech. “There are those who think we can win the White House and Congress back by being ‘more’ conservative. Worse, there are those who think we can win by changing nothing at all about what our party has become.”
