Poll: GOP losing ground in most Demographics

Republicans are losing ground to Democrats in almost every demographic, according to new numbers from Gallup.

This information is probably best represented by the charts, so here they are:

Gallup notes that the GOP has only maintained its support among frequent churchgoers. Here’s another good breakdown of the data.

Gallup also notes that since 2001, the percentage of respondents that identify as Democrats or “lean” Democrat has jumped eight percentage points – 45 percent to 53 percent – while the same measure for Republicans has fallen 5 points – 44 percent to 39 percent.

There was a margin of error of plus or minus 1 percent in the poll.
