Praying for Sotomayor?

A Christian group last week blessed the room where Sonia Sotomayor’s Supreme Court confirmation is likely to be held.

Rev. Rob Schenck, the leader of “Faith and Action in the Nation’s Capitol,” placed oil and prayed at the door of Senate Hart Building Room 216. And the entire thing was videotaped, David Brody reports.

“We’re going to pray that truth prevails” in the hearings, Schenck says. “So the American people have the information they need to assist the senators…on whether or not to confirm the nomination of Judge Sotomayor.”

Brody also posts the letter Schenck sent to the group. Check out the video below. It would appear that this group leans to the right and would, therefore, oppose Sotomayor’s confirmation. Sotomayor is Catholic, though, and, interestingly, Schenck never says anything to that effect.

Here’s the video, via the Brody File.
