Texas GOP’s only female lawmaker calls on Trump to step down
Texas’ only female Republican lawmaker, Rep. Kay Granger, on Sunday denounced Donald Trump, urging the GOP nominee to step down from the ticket.
{mosads}”We have heard rumors about the insensitive and vulgar things Mr. Trump says about women,” Granger wrote in a statement to the Texas Tribune.
“But watching that video is disgusting. Mr. Trump should remove himself from consideration as Commander in Chief,” she added.
The newly released tape of Trump making vulgar remarks about women sparked outrage on Friday, with many GOP lawmakers urging Trump to step down from the Republican ticket.
This list includes former Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina, Sen. Cory Gardner (R-Colo.), Sen. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.), Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah), Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.), and more.
