Palin: Obama is ‘a special kind of stupid’

Former Gov. Sarah Palin (R-Alaska) on Friday derided President Obama for pushing for more gun control after the mass shooting in Orlando.

“Enough is enough, Mr. President,” she wrote on Facebook. “There’s no ‘due respect’ due you after pulling this stunt. Exploiting a sick, evil, ideological-driven attack on Americans to further your twisted anti-Second Amendment mission is disgusting.

Obama on Thursday visited Orlando, calling for stricter firearms regulations after Sunday’s attack on a gay nightclub there.

“Today, once again, as has been true too many times before, I held and hugged grieving family members and they asked, ‘Why does this keep happening?’” he said beside Vice President Biden at a makeshift memorial for victims. “They pleaded that we do more to stop the carnage. They don’t care about the politics.

“Those who defend the easy accessibility of assault weapons should meet these families and explain why that makes sense. Why is it they think our liberty requires these repeated tragedies? That’s not the meaning of liberty.”

Palin on Friday blasted Obama’s question, arguing that the attack doesn’t justify cracking down on other gun purchases.

“If the demented Orlando terrorist doesn’t represent all Islamic followers, then why do you insinuate he represents all gun owners. And why, after any shooting, do you always want to take away firearms from the innocent people who didn’t do it?”

Forty-nine people were killed and 53 more were injured when a gunman opened fire last Sunday at Pulse nightclub in Orlando.

Gunman Omar Mateen, 29, voiced support for the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) during the rampage. He died amid a shootout with responding police. He legally bought guns before the attack despite having been under FBI surveillance for suspected terrorist ties.
