Ryan catches falling American flag during press conference
Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) on Wednesday swooped in to catch a falling American flag during a press conference.
Ryan was standing nearby as Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) spoke, when a flag next to him began falling.
{mosads}The Speaker swooped into action, grabbing the flag and pulling it up the flagpole.
Others rushed over to remove the flag from the stage as the event proceeded.
One attendee could be heard joking that Ryan “saves the Republicans.”
