Starbucks closes stores in Belgium after attack
Starbucks closed all of its stores in Belgium following the deadly terrorist attacks at an airport and metro station in Brussels on Tuesday that left over 30 dead and more than 200 wounded.
The company said Tuesday that initial indications showed that one explosion at the airport in Brussels occurred outside a Starbucks.
{mosads}Starbucks said that one employee sustained minor injuries but all employees were safe and accounted for following the attacks.
“This store and all other Starbucks stores in Belgium will remain closed until further notice,” according to a statement from Starbucks, which operates about a dozen stores in Belgium.
An airport worker told The Associated Press that one of two blasts there hit near a Starbucks cafe, with another detonating near counters for customers paying for overweight luggage.
The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria claimed responsibility for the coordinated attacks.
