Sanders poses with ‘Back to the Future’ star

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders stopped for a photo with “Back to the Future” star Christopher Lloyd on Wednesday, channeling the Doc Brown character on social media.

“Tell me, future boy, who’s President of the United States in 2017? ‘Bernie Sanders.’ Bernie Sanders?! From Vermont?” Sanders’s campaign account tweeted with a photo of the pair.

Sanders apparently spoiled the surprise that Lloyd would appear during Wednesday night’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on ABC. Fellow “Back to the Future” star Michael J. Fox was already slated on the program.

Lloyd and Fox reportedly drove the DeLorean during the show. Kimmel teased an appearance from the two earlier Wednesday:

Several presidential candidates on Wednesday attempted to seize on Back to the Future Day, the day Marty McFly and Doc Brown traveled to in “Back to the Future II,” Oct. 21, 2015.
