Hackers release stolen AshleyMadison.com data

Hackers who stole information about subscribers from a website geared toward people looking to cheat on their spouses have released the data online.

 

{mosads}A file nearly 10 gigabytes in size was posted on the dark web Tuesday that included AshleyMadison.com account logins, credit card info and other details, Wired reported.

 

The website claimed more than 37 million subscribers as of July, when the hack was first reported.

 

The site was started in 2002 and promises to “respect your privacy, security and anonymity.”

 

Hackers demanded the site’s owners take it offline permanently, threatening at the time of the hack to release “all customer records, including profiles with all the customers’ secret sexual fantasies and matching credit card transactions, real names and addresses, and employee documents and emails.”
