Vice President Biden joked that he has to keep his attention from wandering during President Obama’s State of the Union addresses.

{mosads}Biden recounted a conversation he had after the speech with his wife, Jill Biden, during an appearance on Ellen DeGeneres’s daytime talk show.

The vice president told his wife that, because he helped write the speech and knew it all, he struggles to pay attention.

“Welcome to the good wives’ club,” his wife apparently shot back. “She said, ‘How many times have I sat and listened to you give a speech and pretend to be interested?’ ” the vice president added with a grin.

Biden did say he was a fan of the State of the Union speech and, despite jumping out of his seat repeatedly, it was “probably not enough.”

“It’s exhausting, but the thing I loved about his speech, he started talking about what we value, the things you’ve heard me talking about for years — I just think, it’s good stuff,” Biden said.

The vice president was appearing on the show to promote enrollment in the ObamaCare exchanges ahead of the Feb. 15 deadline.
