Second person arrested for trying to enter White House

For the second time in as many days, a man tried to unlawfully enter the White House and was arrested, according to the Associated Press.

{mosads}An unidentified individual was taken into custody on Saturday for failing to stop at the entrance to the White House complex while driving his vehicle.

He initially walked up to the White House gate and later showed up in his car at the vehicle screening area, refusing to leave, Secret Service told the news wire.

Officials have not released the man’s identity, who was charged with unlawful entry. Streets near the executive mansion were temporarily closed as officers responded, but the White House was not locked down.

President Obama, his wife and daughters were at Camp David in Maryland, the presidential retreat where they will spend the weekend.

The incident, however, heightened concerns about the president’s security as the Secret Service prepares to investigate Friday’s security breach.

Just minutes after Obama departed by helicopter Friday evening, a 42-year-old man jumped the White House fence and made it through the door before being apprehended.

The breach sparked a rare White House evacuation, causing agents to draw weapons on the suspect, Omar Gonzalez of Copperas Cove, Texas.
