Vice President Biden called on the NAACP Wednesday to decry measures that restrict citizens’ ability to vote.
Speaking at the civil rights group’s annual convention, the possible 2016 presidential hopeful said there have been 83 attempts this year in 29 states to restrict voting rights.

Civil rights groups argue that voting rights restrictions disproportionately affect minorities, who tend to have less access to identification.
Biden is trying to rally the Democratic Party’s base before midterm elections.
