Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush are the most popular living presidents, according to a Gallup poll released Friday.
Nearly two-thirds view Clinton favorably and 63 percent view the elder Bush positively as well, the survey found.
{mosads}Just over half of respondents said they view former Presidents George W. Bush and Jimmy Carter favorably. President Obama received the lowest favorable rating of 47 percent, the worst favorable rating Gallup has measured to date.
Only seven percent of Republicans said they view Obama favorably while 28 percent of them said they view the other two living Democratic presidents, Clinton and Carter, favorably.
Nearly 90 percent of Democrats, by contrast, view Obama favorably. Ninety-five percent of Democrats also have a positive view of Clinton.
Opinions of George W. Bush have improved among supporters of all political parties since he left office in 2009. Nearly 90 percent of Republicans now view Bush favorably as do 52 percent of independents. Just over a quarter of Democrats view him favorably, too, which is up 15 percentage points since he left office.
The poll surveyed 1,027 adults between June 5 and 8 with a 4-percentage-point margin of error.
