Organizers for the 9/11 memorial museum dedication ceremony on Thursday had to tweak the original program, which would have included a speech by Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.), followed by a performance of “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”
Broadway star Idina Menzel was scheduled to perform the Simon & Garfunkel classic at the ceremony, but a museum spokesman told The Associated Press she was sick and couldn’t perform.
{mosads}Instead, 9/11 widow LaChanze, a Broadway singer herself, performed “Amazing Grace” after Christie spoke.
The museum spokesman told the AP the last-minute change had nothing to do with Christie or the song.
Christie’s administration is still under investigation for its role in the George Washington Bridge scandal last September.
