‘Duck Dynasty’ star gives advice to ‘kissing congressman’

“Duck Dynasty” Star Willie Robertson told Rep. Vance McAllister (R-La.) to work things out privately after video surfaced of the congressman kissing a staffer, McAllister said.

“Willie told me that he was a friend and that I needed to work things out privately,” McAllister told The News Star .

The reality television star endorsed McAllister last year during his special election and was featured in an ad for the congressman shortly before the election (video below). The Louisiana congressman ended up winning an upset victory in the special election in November by 20 points.

McAllister said he had not talked to another one of the stars, Phil Robertson, since the scandal broke.

McAllister invited Robertson to the State of the Union address earlier this year. In the past McAllister has called Robertson a “close friend.”

McAllister has apologized for the incident and asked for forgiveness. He has said he does not plan to resign.
