Christie: Weight-loss surgery ‘life changing’
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) said he made a “life-changing decision” when he chose to undergo gastric bypass surgery to lose weight.
During his monthly radio program, Christie would not reveal how many pounds he has lost since getting the surgery last year, according to the Associated Press.
{mosads}Christie, a potential GOP candidate for president in 2016, has been mum on his weight loss in the past. It took more than a month for it to be revealed that he had even undergone the surgery.
In an interview last September, he said his wife was the only other person that knew his exact weight loss. But he said at the time, “I’ve set a goal, and I’m more than halfway to my goal.”
He has noticeably slimmed down since the surgery and a note from his doctor last year during his reelection campaign said he was “steadily” losing weight.
Christie said his preferred method of exercise is riding a stationary bike.
