Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) said he hopes pop star Justin Bieber gets some help, noting: “That dude is in trouble.”

Rubio told TMZ in a video posted Friday he has his hands full with other things in Washington, and the last thing he needs to be dealing with is a 19-year-old pop star.

{mosads}“I don’t know, man, we have got our hands full with things other than that. I hope he gets some help. That dude is in trouble,” Rubio said when asked about Bieber’s recent arrest.

Rubio said he was reluctant to comment because he had not looked at the details of the case.

“Like I said, we have big issues here in Washington we have to deal with,” he said.

Bieber was arrested in Miami earlier this month and pleaded not guilty to driving under the influence and resisting arrest.

On Thursday a White House petition calling for the pop star’s green card to be revoked reached the 100,000-signature threshold needed to trigger a White House response.

“The last thing we need to be dealing with is some 19-year-old pop star, but just from the little bit I read and I heard, it sounds like he’s got a lot of problems — a lot of problems, personal,” Rubio continued. “I hope he gets some help for it, or he is going to wind up in a bad, bad place.”

The celebrity website TMZ has had an increasing presence on Capitol Hill in the last few months. In December, they tracked down Vice President Biden to ask about his Christmas shopping.
