‘The most interesting man in the world’ to host fundraiser for President Obama
The actor known as “the most interesting man in the world” in a series of commercials for Mexican beer Dos Equis is fundraising for the president.
According to political fundraiser watchers Political Party Time, actor Jonathan Goldsmith is hosting a fundraiser next Tuesday in Vermont. That’s the same day the president is expected to fundraise with pop stars Jay-Z and Beyonce in New York.
{mosads}While the president won’t be in attendance, the Speaker of the Vermont House of Representatives will be there. Tickets range between $20 and $500, with higher amounts gaining access to a special reception.
Goldsmith is a veteran television and film actor, who has appeared in John Wayne movies and television shows including “Charlie’s Angels,” “MacGyver,” “The A-Team” and “Murder She Wrote.” He appeared for an extended stretch as Bruce Harvey on the show “Dallas.”
The entertainment industry has been one of Obama’s largest sources of campaign cash. A fundraiser held by actor George Clooney earlier this year reportedly raised $15 million for Obama’s campaign.
