Mitt Romney’s running mate, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), is scheduled to deliver his speech to the GOP nominating convention that evening. While Obama’s TV appearance likely won’t conflict with broadcast coverage of the convention, the first lady’s media tour could mark another spotlight grab by President Obama’s campaign during a week traditionally reserved for the Republican Party.

{mosads}Vice President Biden also plans to hold a rally on Monday, the first day of the convention, in Tampa, Fla., where the convention is located.

And President Obama will be campaigning in Ohio, Colorado and Virgina on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.

The first lady plans to discuss back-to-school tips and changes to school lunch programs nationwide during her appearance on the show, according to a press release from CBS.

It is the her third appearance on the show. She last appeared on the “Late Show” in June.
