Trump: I can be the ‘most presidential’ president except Lincoln
President Trump said that he can be one of the “most presidential” presidents to hold office at a campaign rally Tuesday.
Trump told a crowd at a rally in Youngstown, Ohio, that “with the exception of the late, great Abraham Lincoln, I can be more presidential than any president that’s ever held this office.”
Trump has often called himself “presidential” amid criticism that he doesn’t act in a presidential way.
{mosads}He has also compared himself to past presidents to tout his own accomplishments.
Seventy percent of Americans said in a poll last week that they think Trump’s actions since the inauguration have not been presidential.
The ABC News/Washington Post poll found that 68 percent don’t view Trump as a positive role model and 57 percent said the more they learn about the president, the less they like him. Fifty-six percent said they believed Trump’s behavior is “damaging to the presidency.”
Trump also said earlier this month that no other president, with the exception of Franklin Roosevelt, “has passed more legislation and who has done more things than what [his administration has done so far].”
