Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) had a mic-drop moment during a live television interview Thursday, but it wasn’t intentional or celebratory in nature.
Ryan was appearing on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” from Capitol Hill, when an off-camera clanking sound is heard, prompting the Wisconsin lawmaker to look down.
{mosads}”Aw, crap,” Ryan said, realizing part of his microphone had fallen. He then momentarily stooped down, out of the camera’s view.
“Can you hear me?” Ryan asked.
“We can totally hear you,” co-host Mika Brzezinski responded.
“We can hear everything, actually, Paul,” co-host Joe Scarborough added as Ryan burst into a smile.
Ryan, who was elected Speaker in late October, is slated to give a speech Thursday afternoon on restoring confidence in America domestically and internationally.
