Poll: Americans say Trump most likely to ruin Thanksgiving

Donald Trump tops a new poll of candidates Americans think are most likely to say something inappropriate during Thanksgiving and ruin the meal.

The survey from the left-leaning Public Policy Polling finds that 46 percent of Americans think Trump would say something to kill the mood surrounding the turkey feasting.

{mosads}Trump’s Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton, comes in second out of the seven candidates listed as options, with 22 percent of Americans saying she would ruin Thanksgiving dinner.

Democratic candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and GOP candidates Ben Carson, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Sen. Ted Cruz (Texas) and Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.) all polled in the single digits. Rubio was the lowest-ranking, with just 1 percent thinking he would say something inappropriate.

Meanwhile, Clinton is the candidate a plurality of the surveyed Americans say they would most like to have over for Thanksgiving. Nearly a quarter of voters, 24 percent, would want her at the table, while 18 percent would pick Carson, 17 percent would pick Trump and 11 percent would pick Sanders.

The survey of 1,360 registered voters was conducted Nov. 16-17 via landlines and the Internet with a margin of error of 2.7 percentage points. Read the full poll results here
