Musk eyes ‘epic location’ in Italy for Zuckerberg fight

X CEO Elon Musk on Friday expressed his wish for a rumored charity cage fight between him and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg to be in an “epic location,” such as Italy.

“The fight will be managed by my and Zuck’s foundations (not UFC),” Musk posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. “Livestream will be on this platform and Meta. Everything in camera frame will be ancient Rome, so nothing modern at all.”

“I spoke to the PM of Italy and Minister of Culture,” he added. “They have agreed on an epic location.”

Musk also vowed that any proceeds from the event would go to veterans.

Zuckerberg responded with skepticism that the event would even take place, as Musk has not agreed to a time. On Sunday, Musk said the time was “in flux” because he may require minor surgery before the event.

Still, the Facebook co-founder said he was “ready to fight.”

“I love this sport and I’ve been ready to fight since the day Elon challenged me. If he ever agrees on an actual date, you’ll hear it from me,” Zuckerberg wrote on Threads, Meta’s newest social platform. “Until then, please assume anything he says has not been agreed on.”

“Not holding my breath for Elon, but I’ll share details on my next fight when I’m ready,” he continued. “When I compete, I want to do it in a way that puts a spotlight on the elite athletes at the top of the game. You do that by working with professional orgs like the UFC or ONE to pull this off well and create a great card.”

Musk also said Thursday that a “noble” debate could also work, instead of a cage fight.

When an X user suggested the idea of a debate, Musk responded, “That sounds like a good idea too.”
