Dolphins invite Parkland survivors to announce draft picks

The Miami Dolphins have offered an invitation to a number of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students and the family of a football coach who was killed during a school shooting to announce the team’s selections at the NFL draft next week, according to ESPN.

So far, 18 seniors from the Florida school and the family of coach Aaron Feis are slated to help announce the team’s picks in rounds 4-7 of the draft.

Feis reportedly tried to shield students from the gunman as he was being gunned down. He was one of 17 killed in the February shooting.

The school shooting triggered a revival of a national debate over gun-law reform that was largely led by the student survivors of the shooting.

Last month, the students organized the “March For Our Lives” gun-law reform rally in Washington, D.C., that extended to other sister cities across the world.

The NFL draft will be held in Dallas from April 26-28.
