NY Post mocks Trump’s ouster of Tillerson: ‘Worst Rex he ever had’

The New York Post took a jab at the ousting of Secretary of State Rex Tillerson by riffing on an old headline that featured President Trump.

“Worst Rex He Ever Had,” Wednesday’s front page reads. The headline is a reference to a 1990 front page that quoted Marla Maples saying Trump, her soon-to-be husband, was the “Best Sex I’ve Ever Had.”

The two were married in 1993 and divorced in 1999.

Wednesday’s front page quickly went viral on social media.

President Trump tweeted Tuesday morning that CIA Director Mike Pompeo will be the new secretary of State.

Speculation that Tillerson would leave the administration has been mounting for months. Trump and Tillerson have publicly differed in their statements about issues like North Korea and the recent poisoning of an ex-Russian spy in the United Kingdom.

Shortly after the announcement, Trump’s hometown paper updated its “Survivor”-themed cover to indicate Tillerson was the latest to go. The cover depicts departed White House aides with red X’s over their faces.

Tillerson said his term as the nation’s top diplomat will end at midnight on March 31. Until then, Tillerson is delegating his responsibilities to Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan.
