Two women have in recent weeks filed reports alleging that casino mogul and former Republican National Committee (RNC) finance chairman Steve Wynn sexually assaulted them in the 1970s.

Las Vegas Police said Tuesday they received a complaint from one woman who said she was assaulted in Las Vegas, and another from a woman who said she was assaulted in Chicago, The Associated Press reports.

The Las Vegas report will not be investigated, as the statute of limitations in Nevada is 20 years. The Chicago case, which was initially filed in Las Vegas, where Wynn Resorts is based, will be forwarded to police in Chicago, the AP reported.

Further details of the complaints were not available. Both were filed in the days after The Wall Street Journal late last month reported allegations that Wynn had engaged in a pattern of sexual misconduct over the last few decades.

The Journal reported that Wynn has been accused of sexually harassing Wynn Resort employees and that he agreed to pay a $7.5 million settlement to a manicurist at one of his hotels who said he pressured her to have sex with him.

Wynn has denied the allegations, but has stepped down as RNC finance chairman and as CEO of Wynn Resorts.
