Trevor Noah: Trump must be ‘morally degenerate’ to back Roy Moore
Late night host Trevor Noah suggested Monday that President Trump is “morally degenerate” for his support of Senate candidate Roy Moore, who is accused of sexual misconduct with teenage girls.
“It’s so crazy to me that after all of this Roy Moore still has supporters,” Noah said on “The Daily Show.”
“What kind of person would be so morally degenerate that they would actually back this man?”
Trump officially backed Moore on Monday, amid controversy within the GOP over whether to support the former Alabama Supreme Court chief justice.
The president cited Moore’s consistent denial of the testimonies by numerous women who say that Moore pursued them or initiated sexual contact when they were teenagers in the 1970s.

Moore tweeted Monday that Trump had given him his “full support” over the phone, and told him to “Go get ’em Roy!” Trump’s endorsement comes after the president previously backed Moore’s GOP primary opponent, Sen. Luther Strange (Ala.)
“What’s funny in all this disgustingness is that earlier in the race, Trump didn’t even endorse Roy Moore,” Noah added. “But then all this sexual misconduct stuff comes out and Trump’s like ‘my man.’ “
The Republican National Committee also resumed funding Moore’s campaign on Monday, signaling the Republican establishment’s push to get Moore into the Senate, which many top GOP senators have opposed.
Moore will face Democrat Doug Jones for the seat vacated by Attorney General Jeff Sessions in a special election on Dec. 12.
