Former Vice President Joe Biden deflected questions from Katie Couric about his 2020 ambitions at OZY Fest on Saturday, saying his current focus is working toward electing a Democratic Congress in 2018.
Biden introduced his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, who was one of several speakers at the event Saturday in New York City. Biden was later spotted in the audience, watching while his wife was interviewed by Katie Couric.

Later on during the event, Couric asked the former vice president whether he would run for president in 2020.
“My focus now, our focus now, is to get a Democratic Congress elected in 2018,” Jow Biden responded to cheers.

Joe Biden continued, saying that younger leaders in the Democratic Party needed to step up and lead in the age of Trump.
“There’s a lot of talent in the Democratic Party,” Joe Biden said. “My hope and expectation is that some of the younger folks are going to come up and fill the void.”
“But if they don’t,” he added, jokingly, “Jill’s running.”
Jill Biden was one of several speakers at the event in New York City. Other speakers included Jeb Bush, Malcolm Gladwell, Eddie Huang, Mark Cuban, RuPaul and other celebrities and influencers.
Many have been speculating whether Joe Biden will run against President Trump in 2020. Joe Biden has so far denied such rumors of a presidential bid. He has, however, said that he regrets not running in 2016.
