New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) has the lowest approval rating of any governor in the country over the past 20 years, according to a new poll released Wednesday.
The Quinnipiac University survey found that Christie has a 15 percent approval rating, which it called “the worst approval rating for any governor in any state surveyed by Quinnipiac University in more than 20 years.”
{mosads}Christie had an 81 percent disapproval rating. The poll found that even among his party, 58 percent of New Jersey Republicans disapprove of him.
A Morning Consult poll in April found that Christie was the least popular governor in the country, with a 71 disapproval rating.
Christie has grown increasingly unpopular in his home state after dropping out of the GOP presidential primary and becoming a supporter of President Trump’s campaign, reaching record low numbers over the past year.
