Audi makes equal pay statement in Super Bowl ad
German automaker Audi used its Super Bowl LI ad to make a statement on gender equality.
The ad shows a father watching his daughter in a race, pondering the question, “What do I tell my daughter?”
“Do I tell her that her grandpa is worth more than her grandma? That her dad is worth more than her mom?” the narrator asks.
{mosads}The questions continue as the father wonders how he can tell his daughter that “her education, her drive, her skills, her intelligence” may not prevent her “being valued less than every man she ever meets.”
At the end, as his daughter wins the race, she and her father walk to their car — an Audi — as the tagline flashes, “Progress is for everyone.”
On Twitter, the company posted the ad and noted, “At Audi, we are committed to equal pay for equal work.”
