Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on Saturday said the west has created a new Cold War with its treatment of Russia.
“NATO’s attitude toward Russia remains unfriendly and opaque, and one could go so far as to say we have slid back to a new Cold War,” Medvedev said during an international conference in Munich, according to USA Today.

Medvedev pointed to sanctions imposed on Russia after the nation’s annexation of Crimea as the reason for rising tensions.
Russian President Vladimir Putin had warned at the conference in 2007 that a missile defense system being built by the West could bring a new Cold War.
“The picture is more grim” now, Medvedev said Saturday.
A peace agreement over Ukraine has not been fully implemented, and shortly after Medvedev spoke, Secretary of State John Kerry blasted Russia for defying the international community.
