Naked man arrested outside White House
The Secret Service on Friday arrested a naked man outside the White House on charges of indecent exposure and assault.
The Secret Service said Michel Bechard approached uniformed officers outside the White House gates and took off all his clothes. When the officers attempted to subdue him, Bechard became “combative and assaulted the officers,” Secret Service spokesman George Ogilvie said.
He was charged with two counts of assault and one count of indecent exposure. He sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
The incident took place a little before 3 p.m., about an hour prior to a ceremony in which President Obama nominated Housing and Urban Development Secretary Shaun Donovan as the next director of the Office of Management and Budget. Obama also announced San Antonio Mayor Julián Castro would take Donovan’s old position.
An NBC reporter tweeted a picture, which instantly lit up the social network.
